Films from the Range, an Austin based production company, sought inspiration for their brand in a way that would pay homage their roots in the South, with it’s vast agricultural landscape and geographic convergence of land and sea. I led the design of a logo and established brand guidelines. We explored icons used in cattle branding to set the stage for the design of the logo:

The Logo

The bottom-right leg of the ‘R’ can be seen wrapping around itself, creating a sense of security for the logo to exist within. This wrap-around effect also doubles as a lasso, further referencing the client’s desire for a Southern theme:
